НОВИЙ РІК

14-го ц. м. розпочався Новий Церковний рік. Час на відновлення нашої посвяти Господові та ближнім. Преп. Герман Аляскинський навчає: “Від сьогоднішнього дня, від цієї години, від цієї хвилини любімо Бога понад усе і сповнюймо Його святу волю”. Те що було до цього вже проминуло. Простімо, покаймося, зі свіжою увагою та надією на Бога починаймо наново Йому служити. Побачимо, як сповнюється слово Господнє: “Ось, Я творю все новим” (Відкриття 21:5). (іюк)

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

“Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). We have just begun a liturgical new year as of September 14. It is the opportunity once more to renew our faith and devotion – to start anew. Wordly wisdom says “Nothing ever changes”. This is a dangerous concept, breeding despair and hopelessness for those who see themselves and the world around them through the eyes of sorrow, discouragement and depression due to some illness or personal recurring weakness. The message of the Church is that proclaimed by Christ: “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2). It is never too late – and never too soon – to turn away from the old and towards the new: a more dedicated, committed life in the Lord. This is the way to true and lasting peace. A way enlightened by the joy of the New Creation. (igk)
