Letter from the Pastor - Лист від Душпастиря
10-го лютого 2010 р. Б Дорогі Парафіяни Церкви Святої Покрови! Дуже скоро почуємо радісні слова: «Христос Воскрес!» і «Воістину Воскрес!» Дійсно радісні, бо ж Господнє Воскресення це також і наше воскресіння, і запевнення про те, що наші милі та улюблені, яких ми вже не бачимо поміж нами, які що року відходять від цього світу, не пропали для нас. Ні, ми таки разом з ними завжди, а особливо тоді коли ми сходимося відзначити Господню Євхаристію у Його Святому Храмі, якого Ви своїми Молитвами та пожертвами утримуєте для служіння Йому. Прилучую порядок Богослужінь на Страсний і Світлий Тижні і молюсь, щоб Ви могли долучитися до цих святкувань, чи то фізичною присутністю поміж нами, чи то духовно, де б тільки Ви не знаходилися в часі Відправ. У цьому році ми зуміли розпочати працю над цеглою на нашому будинкові. Також ми положили нову черепицю у деяких місцях. Ми ще не змогли багато зробити з туалетами, але хоч розібрали накриття стін, щоб могли добратися і забрати цвіль і прийняти засоби, щоб їй запобігти на майбутнє. Ох багато такого, що треба зробити, але ми таки намагаємося посуватися в перед. Ми здали старий зал до винайму, але поки що немає відповідних кандидатів. Ми Ми далі служимо Акафіст до Божої Матері, Покровительки нашої Громади що середи, просячи її заступництва та допомоги. Вона ж дотепер так багато нам допомогла і ми впевнені, що вона нас не покине. У 2008 р. церковна Рада дала виклик – як і смиренне прохання – щоб кожен з наших парафіян пожертвував чи зібрав $500 для покриття коштів направи нашого будинку. Багато-хто вже виконав це, а ми свідомі того, що дехто, особливо в часі економічної скрути, не зможе виконати це. Однак прошу пам’ятати, що Джерело всякого благословення, матеріального та духовного – це Бог, і Він нікому не буде боржником. Ми даємо, тому що ми вдячні Йому і любимо Його. А Він дає, тому що це Його природа давати, і ми, як виразно навчає нас Господь, улюблені діти Його. Може бути, що дехто що дістає цей лист поки що ще не зобов’язали себе формально, щоб бути повними членами нашої Громадою Просимо застановитися над цим. Річна вкладка до Громади зараз - $275 для родин і $225 для самітних. Такі пожертви допомагають Громаді і Ви можете вживати їх для часткового звільнення від податків. Наші річні загальні збори відбудуться в неділю 28-го лютого по Літургії. Буде поминальний обід після Літургії в неділю 21-го березня, щоб пом’янути наших милих покійників. Dear Members of Saint Mary the Protectress Hromada: Very soon indeed we shall hear the joyful words: “Christ Is Risen” and: “He Is Risen indeed!” Joyful indeed for the Lord’s Resurrection is also our own resurrection as well as the assurance that the dear ones who are no longer visible among us, who keep leaving the earth year after year, are not irrevocably lost to us. No, we are all together – especially when we gather together to celebrate the Lord’s Eucharist in His Holy Temple, which you have been helping with your prayers and contributions to keep on serving Him. I attach the order of Services for Passion Week and Bright Week and pray that you may be able to join in the celebrations – whether it be by your physical presence with us, or simply in spirit wherever you may find yourself. This year we have been able to begin the work on the brickwork and pointing on our building. We have also laid new tiles in various places. Me have not been able to do much with the toilets but we have stripped away the wall covering so we could get to, and remove the mold and take measures to stop it. There is a great deal that needs doing but with God’s help we are moving on. We have placed the old hall up for rent but have not yet had acceptable candidates for tenants. We do continue to pray the Akathist to the Mother of God, Patron of our Hromada, each Wednesday, entreating her aid. She has already helped us so much and we are confident that she will not give up on us. In 2008 our Church Council issued the challenge – as well as humble request - that all of our members donate or raise $500 towards repairs. Many have already done so and we are aware that – particularly in the current economic downturn some will not be able to manage this. Nonetheless let us remember that the Source of all blessings, material as well as spiritual, is God and He will not be in anyone’s debt. We give because we are grateful to Him and love Him. He gives because it is His nature to give and we are, as our Lord showed us so clearly, His beloved children. It may be that some folks who receive this letter have not yet formally committed themselves to membership in our Parish. Please consider doing so. The annual membership dues are now $275 for families and $225 for singles. These donations benefit the Parish, and also give you the opportunity to make deductions on your income tax returns. Our annual general meeting will take place on Sunday, February 28, after the Liturgy. There will be a community Memorial meal after the Liturgy on Sunday, March 21, to remember our beloved departed.
