Василя Шийку, кол. Голову нашого хору; під кінець Літургії Панахида в 40-ий день упок. бл. п. Василя Ризаніва. Потім поминки на залі.

14-го вересня, Вівторок, Індикт – початок Церковного Року: 5:00 веч. Молебень.

18-го вересня, Субота: 5:00 веч. Вечірня в Катедрі Св. Софії – о. Ігор відсутній.

19-го вересня, Неділя 16-та по П‘ятидесятниці: 9:00 ран. Утреня; 10:00 Літургія.

21-го вересня, Вівторок, Різдво Пресвятої Владициці нашої Богородиці і Вседіви Марії: 9:30 Літургія.

25-го вересня, Субота: 5:00 по пол. Вечірня у Катедрі перед їхнім Храмовим Святом (у нас тоді не буде).

26-го вересня, Неділя 17-та по П‘ятидесятниці: 9:00 ран. Літургія – на годину раніше, щоб підтримати сестричну Громаду Катедральну з нагоди їхнього Храмового Свята (гл. нижче).

Today: 9:00 a.m. Matins; 10:00 Liturgy; we unite in prayer with our sister parish, the Sobor Parish of Uspennia Presvyatoyi Bohorodytsi in Ottawa on their 55^th anniversary; we also commemorate Vasyl Shyjka of blessed memory, former head of our choir; at Liturgy’s end we shall offer a Panakhyda for Vasyl Rizaniw – 40^th day of repose. Memorial meal in the Hall..

September 25, Saturday: 5:00 p.m. Vespers in the Cathedral on the eve of their Patronal Feastday – no Vespers in our Parish.

September 26, Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost: 9:00 a.m. Liturgy – an hour earlier so we could then go and support our sister Parish, the Cathedral, on their Patronal Feast Day.

The day for the Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist is taken from the date when the Church of St. John was dedicated at Sebaste, in Samaria. This church is located at what is traditionaly thought to be the burial site for St. John. He is also honoured by Muslims as the Nabi Yahya. There is a mosque in his honour on the east side of the square where the Church once stood – it has been a site for such a Church since the 5^th century and the Prophets Obadiah and Elisha are also believed to be buried there.
